Jointly create a new future for the development of cross-border trade between China and Central Asia.

New models and new business types inject new vitality into trade development. In 2021, China's total import and export value of goods trade will exceed 6 trillion US dollars, an increase of 21.4% over 2020. Among them, exports reached 3.2 trillion US dollars, up 21.2%; Imports reached US $2.8 trillion, up 21.5%; The import and export of China and the countries along the "the Belt and Road" increased by 23.6%, 2.2% higher than the overall growth rate; The total import and export volume of China's cross-border e-commerce increased by 15%.

(1)  In 2023, cross-border trade of countries along the "Belt and Road" will continue to grow

In the past year, although China's international trade will slow down due to the impact of the epidemic, China's trade with countries along the "the Belt and Road" will continue to grow, which is an important driving force for China's economic growth. The rapid development of new business forms and models in China, the gradual implementation of the Chinese government's policy of stabilizing foreign trade, the improvement of the utilization rate of free trade agreements, and the continuous optimization of product structure will be important factors to stimulate the growth of imports and exports. Promoting common prosperity, reducing tariffs, releasing domestic demand, and accelerating the construction of free trade zone ports will help further expand imports.
China is changing its role from the low end of the global trade value chain to the high end of the regional trade value chain. China will actively promote trade agreements with countries along the "the Belt and Road", and will support and promote the development of international trade through the development of new trade formats such as cross-border e-commerce, market procurement, overseas warehouses, and with the help of the comprehensive bonded zone, free trade zone, Hainan free trade port and other frontier foreign trade platforms.

(2) The Chinese government's policy of supporting international trade enterprises will be strengthened in 2022

In December 2021, the Ministry of Commerce of China requested local governments to accelerate the promotion of trade adjustment assistance. The Trade Adjustment Assistance system initially provided financial and technical support for enterprises hit by imports. In recent years, it has gradually included enterprises and industries with export obstacles in the aid target. Under the impact of the epidemic, Chinese foreign trade enterprises, especially small and medium-sized foreign trade enterprises, have encountered greater difficulties. In addition to China's unified financial and monetary policy support, we have used the international practice of trade adjustment assistance to provide necessary support in technology upgrading, talent training, market development, financing, etc. Through adjustment, we can adapt to the changes in the external environment in a timely manner, which is conducive to protecting market players, protecting and stimulating the vitality of market players. In the future, we also look forward to the Central Asian countries launching the plan of Trade Adjustment Assistance to help their enterprises out of difficulties.

(3)  The utilization rate of various free trade agreements will gradually increase

The Chinese government has signed free trade agreements with many countries in recent years. Enterprises need to improve their understanding of various free trade agreements, so as to improve the utilization rate of agreements. We need to know the tariff preference level and market openness provided by various free trade agreements, the rules of origin in free trade agreements, and the relevant promotion and services of government departments. At present, the application of rules of origin, technical barriers to trade, animal and plant quarantine rules and intellectual property protection rules of free trade agreements by enterprises is a difficult problem to improve the utilization rate of free trade agreements.

(4) The transportation problems faced by China's foreign trade will be alleviated in 2023

In the face of trade and transportation problems related to China, the Chinese government said that with the increase of experience in epidemic prevention and control in various countries, the adaptability and resilience of the global supply chain to the epidemic will continue to increase, the disorder and disconnection of transport links will be reduced, the timeliness of land and sea transportation will be improved, and the market prices of land and sea shipping cabins may fall slightly. Land transport is increasingly important for the development of cross-border trade between Central Asian countries and China.
